Due to the uncertain and difficult times arising from the COVID-19 pandemic prevailing at present, and in the interests of the health and safety of all concerned, we regret to advise that it has been decided to cancel this year’s ride. Further information and arrangements will be dealt with via email to all registered riders.
The 2020 Fun Ride will be based in Pittsworth and will run from Tuesday 14th April, to Saturday 18th April (inclusive).
Following the hub format, riders will return to Pittsworth Showgrounds each afternoon and on the full days the the ride averages 90km. Riders will self-select into one of four groups based on average speeds and each group will be supported by front and rear safety vehicles.
Parking for rider's vehicles, including caravans and camper trailers will be available on site in Pittsworth. Under-cover facilities and amenities will be available for riders who wish to just roll out their swag/bedding/stretcher etc. (this cost is included in the nomination fee). If you wish to book a caravan/camper trailer site, it will cost $90- in addition to the nomination fee (which must be submitted with your nomination form). Hotel/motel accommodation is also available in Pittsworth for riders who wish to make their own arrangements.
The Entry Fee is $275- per rider, or for families $225- per rider. As at 28/2/20 registration fee is reduced by $50- per person, but no cycling jersey can be provided. entry fee includes; riding jersey, the under-cover camping facilities and amenities, breakfast/lunch/dinner each day, and snacks/fruit/water at rest stops. As the purpose of the Fun Ride is to raise funds to support the work of Children's Cancer Institute, each participant must also raise a minimum of $300- for the Children's Cancer Institute.
